Leodis Smith was born in Dallas, Texas. He has moved several times and currently resides in New York. He is an actor/playwright/screenwriter/singer sometimes. He has written eight short plays and had ten productions of those plays. As well as one staged reading of a full length play. Among his plays are The Substitute, Tray's Broadcast, V From Vitality, Magic Pixie Dream Girl, Against The Grain, Blink, If the Truth Be Told, A Quick Trip to Happiness, and Dinner With Tron. He has been awarded an Artists@theBarn Residency by Theatre 4the People, as well as the NYSCA FY 24 grant, and the City Artist Corps grant.
