Trevor Markanovic

A native of the Cleveland suburb of Mentor, OH, Trevor Markanovic is an actor and writer who fled to New York City on a whim to realize his dreams.

His acting career began in 2018, studying the Meisner technique under the late and great Ted Wold from 2018 to 2022. He has also studied under Matthew Corozine at the Matthew Corozine Studio since 2020, where he is now Creative Director and Administrator. He can most recently be seen in the comedy feature film "Retreat!" and the drama short film "Vial". Trevor made his full-length stage debut in 2023 as Dev in "Stupid F*cking Bird" directed by Isaac Byrne and produced by Theatre 4the People.

Trevor's writing pursuits began much earlier, scribbled in notebooks and on scrap paper as a toddler shortly after teaching himself how to read. He now holds a BA in Creative Writing from John Carroll University. In 2014, he was invited to and attended the Sweet Briar College Creative Writing Conference. His poetry and short fiction has been published in The John Carroll Revue. Now his writing pursuits aim at the stage and screen. Trevor wrote the screenplay for the horror short film "Disrepair" produced by Breathe Entertainment Productions in 2022; he is currently co-writing the feature adaptation. Trevor is also co-writer on the forthcoming horror series "Melaninville."

Trevor is honored to be awarded the Artists@theBarn Residency by Theatre 4the People, and looks forward to this unique opportunity to hone his artistic craft away from the literal and figurative pollution of his beloved NYC.
